Brazilian Student Drinks 25 Shots in 60 Seconds

23 year-old Brazilian Humberto Moura Fornseca was partying with college friends at Julio de Masquita University when someone had the idea to organize a competition. Whoever thought this up seriously had not a care in the world for life. The competition involved drinking 25 shots of alcohol in 60 seconds. How is that even possible?! That’s a shot every 2.5 seconds. This is the type of thing you think of, then immediately kick yourself in the face for thinking up something so dumb. I digress!

After completing the feat, Fornseca immediately collapsed and was rushed to the hospital but died on the way. Six other students also collapsed after the competition and have been hospitalized for alcohol poisoning. The students have been in the ICU for the past three weeks in critical condition.

Two students have been arrested for organizing the event without a license and risk being charged with the death of Fornseca.

Fornseca’s Facebook eerily features a quote from poet Vladimir Maiakovski:

“It is better to die from vodka than from boredom.”

The moral of this story is quite clear, don’t do dumb things with your dumb friends. In the end everyone is losing. To get a sense of the type of “competitions” the students organized, check out this video:
